Tuesday Tracings

Here's a little snippet of where I've been online lately...enjoy!

Twine Flowers - these look fun and fairly simple! I can't wait to try them!
DIY Blue Mason Jars - these, too, I can't wait to try!
Noteflight - this website makes it easy to write and/or arrange music...I've used it several times and it's served me well.

Have a great week!

p.s. - please know that I haven't "checked out" these websites above; just the pages I have linked to. I may not fully endorse everything on each website. :)

May, June, July, August....

Are you sure "summer" is 4 months long? I mean, it sure didn't feel like it!!  :)

With school starting back up, I (most likely) won't have much time to post on my blog....I'll try to update on a regular "schedule" (like...once every month or so...and maybe some in between!) but we'll see. :)

Anyway, that wasn't the real reason I am writing this post. :) I plan to give an overview of what we did this summer. Here goes!

In May, Parker and I went to TeenPact's National Convention in TN. (read my post about it here)

In June, we helped out with our church's VBS (Big Apple Adventure!)

....and went to my grandmother's house in NC to visit with family!
While we were there, we had a photo shoot,

(some of us them) took wagon rides,

we visited a farm with some friends,

went to the pool,

celebrated Independence Day,

Home-Made Ice Cream!

(BBQ Brisket, cherries, strawberries, chips, cole slaw = some of the things we had for lunch/dinner (linner? Dunch?) on July 4th!)
and we made a movie.

In August , some people had a birthday! (Namely, Parker and Dad). For Parker's birthday, we had kabobs (chicken, beef and bison), yummy green beans, sweet tea, and homemade cheesecake, compliments of the birthday boy!

For Dad's birthday, we had grilled chicken, green beans, grilled potatoes, sweet tea (you can't go wrong there!), vanilla ice cream and homemade peach cobbler! *yum.* Now, I don't yet have pictures on the computer of Dad's birthday, so you will just have to imagine all the yummy foods etc.  :) You can do that, right?

If you have read all the way down to here(and continue to read until the end of the post), congratulations! You have successfully viewed 21 pictures, and read 319 words.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! And a fabulous fall! And an lovely Labor Day! :)

Beach 2011

Ahh yes! We are finally here! (after what was supposed to be 7-ish hours, the trip turned out to be NINE HOURS!!! *sigh*)

In celebration of my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary, they decided to take everyone (ok...not everyone. Just their offspring and grand-offspring) to the beach! *HUGE SMILE*

Soo. We are here. Twenty-something people in one BIG house on the beach, with a pool, game room and 2 kitchens! And, it's nice and hot. :)

Fun-ness!

the leftovers of my chick-fil-a milkshake. {PEACH!!!}
Lydia is SOOO excited to be here...

...as you can see! :)

Graham!
we took a walk on Saturday night. :) I think this picture is: (L-R) (back)Mom, Aunt Carol, Lydia, Dad. (front): Rachel (or part of her), Aunt Beth, Uncle Brian, Graham and Caleb's feet. :)

Yes, we are having fun!

I might post some more pictures later in the week. Or, I might not. You never know...

Can You Say....

 {just a little FYI...this is a very long post...I mean...I have to make up for my absence, right??? ;) }

...NATIONAL CONVENTION 2011??????????

A few weeks ago (ok, at the end of May.), Parker and I attended a TeenPact (TP) alumni event called National Convention (NC) at Fort Bluff, TN. NC is a week-long TeenPact camp, (TeenPact: go here) With over 500 students and parents attending, it is the biggest alumni event TeenPact has.

It. Was. AMAZING!!!

Oh! I have SOOO many good memories...and maybe a few interesting ones :), and it would take me waaayy  to long to share those here...besides, it would be hard to write it all here. But, I can share a few stories.....

Like the time when about (I think I'm right on this number) 65 people stood up and declared Jesus Christ as THEIR Lord after Brett Harris finished speaking.

Or when a group of us went around campaigning for a Representative candidate.

Or the time when that Rep. candidate won the primaries.

Or the time when we prayed in small groups while it was pouring down rain. (That was the ONLY time the rain interrupted our schedule...and we were supposed to playing games. :) God had different plans!)

Or the night when Stephen and Valen won TP president and vice-president......

The list goes on and on....Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Elections. Rendezvous (talking about the day with the girls (in my case :) in you room). Bonjour (daily quiet time). Rain :). Speakers. Worship sessions. The Bluff (to view the picture of this, click on the link, and at the left hand corner of the screen, you will see  picture thumbnails. Click on the one that says "Bluff View". BTW--the lodge is the place the girls stayed! It was amazing. :)

So many amazing, awesome (awesome-azing!) things!

Along with stories, I have PICTURES!! :)

Former president of TeenPact, Clayton Chambers

Former Vice President of TeenPact, Molly Hall

Sierra, with her campaign table!
One of the many Ultimate Frisbee teams, (and my personal favorite...because of the name...AND my brother was on it... :) the Awkward Turtles!!!

The Awkward Turtles...doing the "awkward turtle" (actually, they were kinda finishing up... ;)

Mr. Peter Martin, TeenPact CEO

We had awesome election coverage throughout the week! Thanks, guys!

National Convention 2011

Vice-Presidential debate

The girls cabin/lodge. We affectionately named it the "Lincoln Lodge".  :)

VP debate analysis...these guys were hilarious. :P

Former TeenPacter and Current Oklahoma Rep.,  Elise Hall

Former TeenPacter and Current Oklahoma Rep., Josh Cockroft

Brett Harris spoke on Friday morning. Two words: Really good. One more word: Amazing.

There were cloudy days...

...some rain...
...and there were sunny days (!), but all was beautiful.

The Ultimate Frisbee Tournament was awesome. Enough said.

Saturday morning, some of us got up really early to watch the sun rise. Beautiful!

Good Morning!

Parker and me on the last day. {*sob!*}

It really was an awesome trip, with 500+ inspiring people! I hope that one day, I will see YOU there, too!! I plan to go again next year...my friend and I are brainstorming ways to raise money..I think we have a few ideas... :) I'll try to keep you posted!

Have you ever been to a TeenPact event (state class or any Alumni event)? If not, are you planning on it soon? (You SHOULD!!) Leave a comment telling me your plans...and about any other camp/awesome thing you are going to/went to/doing! :)

Later!
