Beach 2011

Ahh yes! We are finally here! (after what was supposed to be 7-ish hours, the trip turned out to be NINE HOURS!!! *sigh*)

In celebration of my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary, they decided to take everyone (ok...not everyone. Just their offspring and grand-offspring) to the beach! *HUGE SMILE*

Soo. We are here. Twenty-something people in one BIG house on the beach, with a pool, game room and 2 kitchens! And, it's nice and hot. :)

Fun-ness!

the leftovers of my chick-fil-a milkshake. {PEACH!!!}
Lydia is SOOO excited to be here...

...as you can see! :)

Graham!
we took a walk on Saturday night. :) I think this picture is: (L-R) (back)Mom, Aunt Carol, Lydia, Dad. (front): Rachel (or part of her), Aunt Beth, Uncle Brian, Graham and Caleb's feet. :)

Yes, we are having fun!

I might post some more pictures later in the week. Or, I might not. You never know...

March....

I guess you could say I've been busy-ish...with school, teaching, school, socializing :) , school, (occasional) blogging, school, the slightly necessary stuff such as eating, sleeping etc....

Did I mention school? :)

A few weeks ago, our home school group had the annual Chili-Cook-Off...complete this year with the jalapeno eating contest. Guess who entered? (NOT ME!!!!) Guess who WON???? (Hint: NOT ME!!!)

Yes. Parker won the jalapeno eating contest. :D He ate 2 WHOLE, FRESH jalapenos in 60 seconds!! Seeds and all!!

 ....milk was provided....

Samantha and I had fun hanging out!

Moving on to a few weeks later.....

The Georgia Handbell festival!

The festival was located in Gainseville, GA...on the beautiful Lake Lanier! During our lunch break on Saturday, three of us took a little walk by the lake. Ahhh.....80 degree weather + lake/dock + good friends = SO MUCH FUN!!!

Shadow picture!!!

We made a little friend...and named him Yeffery (I guess that's how you spell it...). :P He was sooo cute and TINY!!!!

Moving on.....

I. love. photography!!! Especially in the sunset hours...the sunlight is just PERFECT!!!!!

Yes, spring has come to Georgia!! It came a little early this year (mid-late March)...but it's just as beautiful as ever!!

(You can kinda see the pollen on this flower..... :) fun stuff!)

Little leaf buds! :)

Another thing has happened in our house hold.....

Graham and I had a birthday! Happy 13, Graham! <3

So. There you have it. A short summery of my March! :) What have you been up to??

They Called for Snow, Y'all!!

And snow it did!! :D We had soo much fun in the 5 inches of snow we got last night!! Yippee!!!

Let's see...about 26 degrees? Yes. That is slightly chilly. :)

All evening activities were cancelled at Church Sunday. Schools were closed (all week! not that it effected us...because we're homeschooled....). We were told to stay off the roads. Police were only responding to life-threatening emergencies. The Prayer Service for Governor Nathan Deal's inauguration was canceled. The inauguration was moved inside the capitol. It was a true snow storm last night. The state? Good 'ole Georgia. :)
Ahhh...WHITE SNOW in GEORGIA!!! (We usually have brown snow, mixed with grass. ;) )

What state are we in??? :)

It started snowing about 9:00 last night (Sunday night), and probably snowed about 2-3 hours. :) Heavy snow. I have no idea if it snowed through the night...but, when we woke up this morning, it was a winter wonderland!! :) Around 8:00 this morning, the sleet and freezing rain started, leaving a layer of ice (about 1/2 in. thick) on top of the snow and everything else it could get on.

My brother and dad scooped out the snow from under the ice on my dad's car....pretty awesome result!! (Eventually, my dad took the ice and put it on my moms back... :P )
Some people (person) decided it would be fun to...umm...flip over the rail.

Result:

He was such a perfect target.....so...we decided to put snow on him. :)

That same person decided to ride his bike on the icy roads. Make that, icy hills.

We, however, decided to just take a walk. And hope that the boys don't break anything. :)

All was fine, and we made it though the entire week with out any injuries! :) On Tuesday, the boys, Dad and Lydia went out in the snow. I have pictures of that, but first, I need to show you how to make a redneck sled. :P

Step 1: get a cardboard box and cut it apart into a long strip
Step 2: cover entire thing with.....DUCT TAPE!

Final result above. :)

Sooo...on to Tuesday. (Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the sled in action....)

Graham, Lydia and Parker finished the snowman we started Monday! :) (I wasn't feeling that great...so I didn't come out. :) The only problem: The hat was stolen right off Mr. Snowman's head! :( Oh well. I hope that whoever stole it really needed a hat!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures from our "Global Warming at it's Best" week! :P

Long Time, No See!

Well, at least I have a good reason. (Other than being busy.... =) We went to my grandmother's 80th birthday party 2 weeks ago...then we went to the beach! :D I have TONS of pictures...and can't post them all here, but when (if) I upload them to Photobucket or Picasa, I'll let y'all know!

For now, I'll share a few pictures with you. Let's start with the Birthday Cake!

The birthday cake! We had a LOT left over!!!
We took pictures Saturday night. Imagine getting 3 boys, 3 girls and 8 adults to all smile at the camera...at the same time! :) Guess who was the hardest to get looking at the camera? (No, I'm not going to tell you. You have to leave a comment to guess!!! :)

Cousins! (L-R: Rachel C., Lydia and me) Funny how we all kinda match! (we didn't plan that....)
On Sunday, we left to go to Columbia to meet friends for lunch, and then on to Edisto Island! It rained the first full day...and then the third day...but that was OK. We used those days to "crash". :P

Do you see the turtle?? :)
On Saturday, we woke up early (6:15ish) to watch the sunrise. It was worth it, though!

Sunrise

Sunrise--a little higher this time =)

Us ;) (L-R: Me, Lydia, Parker and Graham)

Well---hopefully I'll be back soon (whatever that means!) with more pictures! :D

What have you been doing lately?
