March....

I guess you could say I've been busy-ish...with school, teaching, school, socializing :) , school, (occasional) blogging, school, the slightly necessary stuff such as eating, sleeping etc....

Did I mention school? :)

A few weeks ago, our home school group had the annual Chili-Cook-Off...complete this year with the jalapeno eating contest. Guess who entered? (NOT ME!!!!) Guess who WON???? (Hint: NOT ME!!!)

Yes. Parker won the jalapeno eating contest. :D He ate 2 WHOLE, FRESH jalapenos in 60 seconds!! Seeds and all!!

 ....milk was provided....

Samantha and I had fun hanging out!

Moving on to a few weeks later.....

The Georgia Handbell festival!

The festival was located in Gainseville, GA...on the beautiful Lake Lanier! During our lunch break on Saturday, three of us took a little walk by the lake. Ahhh.....80 degree weather + lake/dock + good friends = SO MUCH FUN!!!

Shadow picture!!!

We made a little friend...and named him Yeffery (I guess that's how you spell it...). :P He was sooo cute and TINY!!!!

Moving on.....

I. love. photography!!! Especially in the sunset hours...the sunlight is just PERFECT!!!!!

Yes, spring has come to Georgia!! It came a little early this year (mid-late March)...but it's just as beautiful as ever!!

50th Post, and How I study (esp. vocabulary)

Yippee! This is my 50th post! :) I might do something special when I get to 100....I'll have to think about that.....=)

Anyway, The real reason I'm posting is because I want to share how I study for tests etc. Not that I'm an expert or anything....far from that! I just thought this might be helpful......and....well, to tell you the truth, I wanted to blog about something, so I thought "why not?" ;)

This year, my older brother and I took biology. (!) It was really a blur.....a whole lot more homework and studying than I'm used to.....but I guess that's good for me! =)
First, I make flash cards. (I love color....so I have pink, green, yellow and blue flash cards, and I will put them in that order every time. :) )

Then, I write my vocab. words in different colors. Again...I love color.... =)

The paper ends up looking like this (above)....green, blue, purple, pink, orange. Green, blue, purple, pink, orange. Each line (or definition) a different color. :) Sometimes I can memorize things better by saying it--over, and over, and over, and over, and...well, you get the point. :) It also helps me to put things to music...or to rap it..... ;-O

Then, I just recently found this website, and it help a lot, too! (StudyStack) I have found the study guides etc. for the curriculum I'm using (Apologia) so far....so I haven't had to make anything--yet. :) But, if I need to, I probably will!

Now, what are your tips on studying??
