They Called for Snow, Y'all!!

And snow it did!! :D We had soo much fun in the 5 inches of snow we got last night!! Yippee!!!

Let's see...about 26 degrees? Yes. That is slightly chilly. :)

All evening activities were cancelled at Church Sunday. Schools were closed (all week! not that it effected us...because we're homeschooled....). We were told to stay off the roads. Police were only responding to life-threatening emergencies. The Prayer Service for Governor Nathan Deal's inauguration was canceled. The inauguration was moved inside the capitol. It was a true snow storm last night. The state? Good 'ole Georgia. :)
Ahhh...WHITE SNOW in GEORGIA!!! (We usually have brown snow, mixed with grass. ;) )

What state are we in??? :)

It started snowing about 9:00 last night (Sunday night), and probably snowed about 2-3 hours. :) Heavy snow. I have no idea if it snowed through the night...but, when we woke up this morning, it was a winter wonderland!! :) Around 8:00 this morning, the sleet and freezing rain started, leaving a layer of ice (about 1/2 in. thick) on top of the snow and everything else it could get on.

My brother and dad scooped out the snow from under the ice on my dad's car....pretty awesome result!! (Eventually, my dad took the ice and put it on my moms back... :P )
Some people (person) decided it would be fun to...umm...flip over the rail.

Result:

He was such a perfect target.....so...we decided to put snow on him. :)

That same person decided to ride his bike on the icy roads. Make that, icy hills.

We, however, decided to just take a walk. And hope that the boys don't break anything. :)

All was fine, and we made it though the entire week with out any injuries! :) On Tuesday, the boys, Dad and Lydia went out in the snow. I have pictures of that, but first, I need to show you how to make a redneck sled. :P

Step 1: get a cardboard box and cut it apart into a long strip
Step 2: cover entire thing with.....DUCT TAPE!

Final result above. :)

Sooo...on to Tuesday. (Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the sled in action....)

Graham, Lydia and Parker finished the snowman we started Monday! :) (I wasn't feeling that great...so I didn't come out. :) The only problem: The hat was stolen right off Mr. Snowman's head! :( Oh well. I hope that whoever stole it really needed a hat!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures from our "Global Warming at it's Best" week! :P
